Historically in the traditional language of flowers, the Iris symbolises the valiant meanings of courage, hope, wisdom and faith. These meanings can be traced back to stories in Greek mythology, where Iris was Goddess of the rainbow, and a messenger between Zeus and Hera.
You will also recognise Iris as the symbol of the Fleur-de-Lis where its stylised petals form the shape this heraldic symbol was based on and immortalised in French Royalty for Jewellery, architecture and decoration.
